marfa wedding + nasher reception

Liz and Adam decided to have their wedding ceremony in Marfa Texas at the Chinati Foundation – A gallery filled with the works of Donald Judd. When they met with me at our studio they said they wanted to have me come along, but that I wouldn’t be allowed in the building to shoot the ceremony. I accepted the challenge, was thankful for a few windows and we made some really great images. It really turned out to be one of my most interesting and fun weddings of the year. But we weren’t done. Two day’s and 900 miles later we met back up for their wedding reception in the garden of the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas. They had a beautiful dinner on the lawn, but as a massive storm rolled in the party was forced under cover. Thankfully both Adam and Liz are total troopers and have great spirits so they decided that rain be damned, they were going to have their first dance. So they ran out in the rain and had my favorite first dance I’ve ever been a part of. Here are a few of my favorite images from both days. Hope you enjoy! – Carter
